Background

I started with free software and Linux in 1994, at engineering school (ENSIIE). Then IBM France, for an R&D thesis on transducers for text processing; Alcatel, on network supervision; MandrakeSoft, the start-up behind the Mandrake then Mandriva Linux distribution, in the core development team of DrakX, the installer, and urpmi, the package manager — tools that ran on millions of machines; the French tax administration (DGI, the Copernic programme) as a software architect. Founder of Aytechnet since 2008 — hosting, maintenance of online shops, server monitoring, and DyaPi, the platform that links e-commerce and ERP and carries French electronic invoicing — and co-founder of Velonomad in 2025.

How I work

  • One interlocutor, from the first e-mail to the fix: no level 1, no ticket queue.
  • Go, and as few third parties as possible: the Aytechnet sites load nothing from anyone, the monitoring agent only connects out and never reads your data.
  • What I build, I run first for myself: Aytechnet's and DyaPi's servers are the first ones monitored, hosted and backed up with these tools.
  • Written down: prices on the page, plain-language terms, a privacy policy that says what is collected and for how long.

In the open

  • Open-source contributor since the nineties; two Go libraries published under github.com/aytechnet (decimal, fsync), and the monitoring agent will follow — so anyone can read what runs on their servers.
  • Based in Leynhac, then Aurillac (Cantal, France). Customers across France; French or English.
